Whaaaa, whaaaa, god zombies are easy to out run, out maneuver, they're slow. You don't like them, learn how to manage them, become a better player. Not difficult.

Seems needlessly rude.

As with any game, learn to be a better player. If you don't like it, don't play it, simple as that. It's been discussed for YEARS, zombies, they are not difficult at all.

Maybe that's the problem though? I can't see too many people complaining about zombies being difficult, so "get good" actually makes things even worse in this case.
My main gripe with the zombies is that they're just rather boring as enemies and don't offer anything interesting from the gameplay perspective. Some people will probably find them at least somewhat creepy, and maybe I did too when I first encountered them, but that impression didn't last for long... Perhaps the main purpose of the zombies is to just be there to create a spooky atmosphere, but in my opinion that works for about five minutes and then they only become a nuisance.

I don't think difficulty is the issue with zombies. They're just a different type of enemy that you have to factor in to your strategy. Unlike guards, you can't run around and knock them all out and remove them from the equation. As dumb as they are, you need to avoid them (or, I guess, blow them up, but resources for that are usually rare).
The OP's criticism of them was that they were too random (which isn't true). But there is a persistence to them.

I'd agree with that, they are boring, etc. If it's a tight area, lots of zombies, the shadows come in handy to see their patrol and watch. As with any game, learn it.

when you get to heal the zombies in seven sisters is a great feeling on expert +1 zombies
now if you have to face a boat load with no way to heal them, then it can be the moment you hope your mantling is 100%

What's more thiefy, though, than running around Bonehoard with a conga line of zombies behind you as if it was an episode of Benny Hill? It's the classic stealth experience.
