The wife and I played Breath of the Wild together, taking it in turns, so she's been super excited to play this. So naturally I've been umming and ahhing and sucking through my teeth and pretending we can't afford it... Just so I could go out today and surprise her with it. Yesss.

It is actually a game you can take turns in, because you can just faff around without making any real progress but still have fun.

Yeah totally. Controller generally gets passed when one of us hits a tough fight or confusing puzzle, and the other one has a bright idea. :D

I made a big truck! I could steer it and everything. I was about to go on a roadtrip with it but decided to rest up at a stable first. Big mistake. When I come out the next morning my sweet ride was gone! That's right. Bokgoblins stole my ride!
Other progress: I beat the boss in the Rito Village region and started exploring the depths.
Helping the guy with the signs might legit be one of my all-time fave open-world-game minigames.

I watched my wife painstakingly attempt to build a raft to cross an icy lake in a cave, put it together slightly lopsided, turn the fan on and end up careening sideways into a wall from which she could not get back to land without dying. 10/10
