Yslsides... tough bastards!

Anyone got a good strategy on beating these guys? I have a lvl 7 thief type, and they always kick my butt. I've just been trying to avoid them so far.

A single fireball spell always does the job for me, but then again, you're a sneaksie thief. To bad you must actually KILL to gain XP.

Umm, maybe a weapon with a paralyzation effect could help?

Yeah, being a thief in Arx is tough! Hehe, I even tried killing them with fireballs... but mine are too weak to do any damage. I even tried incinerate and no luck. It's just that they are so damn fast and my armor sucks. Plus they are ao well protected it's impossible to backstab them properly.

Fireball's a nice spell as you get up in levels, but it's not so great initially. Try again when you get to 6th or so, maybe? (I haven't tried since I was 4th, and got smoked)

You can get to 10th level mage, with some decent fighting ability, before you ever need to face the Ylsides(with rings of spell casting, of course...you'll need 2). Just 1 fireball will do it. In fact, in one game where I went pure mage, I could actually go looking for 'em without fear. MegaMage, away!
