I started watching this one as a way to distract myself while doing the ironing yesterday, and ended up having to finish the whole thing, it was so compelling.
I don't know if I'll ever actually play this mod myself, especially after watching the video, but I can appreciate the sheer skill that went in to this. To be honest, with the sheer amount of STUFF in it, I'm surprised it fits into 66MB:

Oh yeah, I've heard of that one. Kinda think I wanna play it myself at some point rather than watch the video tho.
I've been watching through the Double Fine PsychoOdyssey lately, currently on ep. 15.

Filmed over 7 years, it follows the developments of Psychonauts 2 and the Rhombus of Ruin VR game. It's like a well-made docu-drama! Tim is a natural showman of course, and carries much of the early episodes, but pretty soon they start going in the storylines of individual devs on the team. The Amnesia Fortnite episodes have been the highpoint so far. It's good.

If game critique is what you want, I've enjoyed Errant Signal quite a bit. He occasionally veers into the more academic analysis side of things and also looks at lesser known indies from time to time. Right now, though, he's doing a series on early 90s FPS games:
The series on early FPS games just got a new entry:

Yeah, good vid as usual. Kinda wild that the only ones of these games I played at the time was SIN and Shogo. :I In my defense I didn't have a 3D card so Unreal was a no-go, the headcrabs in Half Life scared me, and I didn't know about Thief until the Thief 2 demo.

I thought Unreal had a software rendering mode, and that the first game that explicitly required a graphics card was Quake 3?
I played through Unreal on a 300Mhz 603e Clone Mac which had an ATI card, but I do remember it having a software renderer.

Unreal did have a software rendering mode (though it ran extremely badly on the CPUs of the time, as one would expect), so no, a graphics accelerator (as per 90s parlance) was not explicitly required for it, but you'd be kinda missing the point if you didn't run the game on one.

Most known for their short Oblivion skits but this Let's play is amazing. Not that much into Let's Plays myself but this one is a must-watch if you like Oblivion.
They're using the Xbox 360 version with quite a lot of funny bugs and glitches, it's just two brothers enjoying a game and making fun of it without any annoying stuff, i.e. "ring the bell", "smash that like button" garbage that's so common nowadays. Definitely no hardcore-gaming, just comfy gameplay and commentary.
The Morrowind Let's Play from Emmet (same channel) and the Jedi Academy Let's Play (both brothers) are also pretty funny.

Grimbeard is back from a 3 month hiatus with a banger of an ep on Invisible War.

This GMTK vid did get me thinking in new paths, and made me to refine the camera system in POGOPPL by adding a vertical buffer so the camera isn't always bouncing up and down with your pogopeeps. Very good vid!
