The first time I saw the Avatar trailer the only thing running through my head after the title was "WTF Cameron, freakin PAPYRUS? Seriously..."
Gingerbread Man on 8/4/2010 at 23:30
Me too. That, more than any other 'sperging nitpick orgy you want to throw at me, nearly fucked up Avatar for me. Luckily it hardly ever showed up.

I set 5 alarm clocks every night each to a different time within a few minutes of each other (3 in my phone and two regulars), and check them all twice before going to bed (assuming I have to get up in the am).

I have several texture issues, most notably with the last bit of a roll of paper towel. There are even some things that I just have to think of and I cringe / shudder / feel nauseous. I can't remember what they are right now, which is the problem: I generally find myself cringing / shuddering / feeling nauseous and then saying "oh rite this shit make me go all wiggly" and then forgetting entirely what it was a short while later.
It's not plastic is it? I have the same reaction to cheap hard moulded plastic (the kind you often find on car dashboards from the 80s and 90s) with the tiny bumpy texture. Makes me feel sick. Whenever I think of it I get this weird feeling in my teeth. It's probably linked to when I was a kid and tried to bite something plastic.
The stuff is all over my car, hopefully I won't get distracted when I'm driving one day and have to explain to the police that my plastic dashboard caused the accident.

I'd probably do that too, if I had five alarm clocks. Instead I think I might just get (

And on the topic of textures, I can't drink out of styrofoam cups. It makes all my hair stand on end.

I just discovered a new one: being interrupted by a professor can leave me so discombobulated that I can't concentrate or speak till I get a break 1.5 hours later. This has happened twice in as many classes.
Other than that, well, it's hard to list just two, or isolate them in general. Um.
2. I regularly get annoyed by the presence of facial hair (my own, not others) while out and about but inevitably forget to shave when I'm home. I'll thus go unshaven for days.
3. Approximately 40% of my music listening time is spent listening to R.E.M. over and over and over.
4. I am afraid of chalk.

I'm afraid of chalk too. I teach a little class at our home-school co-op to teens, and my teeth actually start hurting as I drive there each week, thinking of having to touch chalk and scrape it across that chalkboard. Oh god, I feel sick just talking about it.

Like Geebs, I have some texture issues. Polystyrene/styrofoam (particularly the sound of it breaking up) and velvet set my teeth on edge. I also can't watch anyone eat ice cream due to my insanely sensitive teeth.
Other than that, despite being a statistician and being comfortable with long term trends, I can't help but get worried anytime I experience turbulence on a flight and keep waiting for it to happen when it doesn't - this is particularly troublesome on long haul flights. Of course, this is largely due to the time when our plane nearly went down in a monsoon over India, the memory of which haunts me to this day. In spite of this, I actually love air travel.
And yes, sometimes I too get locked into that speculative paranoid fear of the worst type scenario when I consider situations with my children.

- I've got restless legs. Unlike others who I've heard are not aware of tapping their foot/shaking muscles etc., I do it mostly consciously to some song or rhythm or just a bit of a tune that's playing in my head over and over.
It's pretty annoying since I'm almost always 'playing' something, and I guess people around must hate it. I know my mom did.
It gets even more annoying when I can't identify the song. Usually, when I play the music from a record, it ceases - I sort of 'tune in'. But I'm also sure I made up some of the song bits myself and it pisses me off doubly so.
- I'm afraid of heights but it's a selective kind of vertigo. I'm only scared whenever I instinctively feel the danger of falling is somehow likely. I'm ok on planes - I enjoy flying. I don't mind most of lookout towers, ferris wheels etc. But put me on a rickety ladder leaning on a 5-meter cherry tree and my butt's so clenched you couldn't stick a needle in it.
- I panic whenever I'm alone in a crowded place (subways and buses can be personal hell) and I start thinking about people around being able to hear my breathing. I always imagine they must think it's unnaturally loud so I often hold my breath for some time and try to breathe as quietly as possible.
- I didn't even have to think long and hard about this list. I carry around a mental 'Why I am a Fucked Up Person' list at all times. There's more shit on it but it's way too personal or NSF not just W but pretty much any social environment.

I am not in the least bit compulsive as long as everything is done exactly the way I want it done (especially the dishes).

I like marmite.
Nothing strange about that. (Fave Marmite recipe: toasted crumpet smeared with the ambrosia, slice of cheese, a couple of minutes under the broiler... It's better than bad sex.)
