Steve Vai - Fire Garden Suite
Steve Vai - Tender Surrender
Steve Vai - Glorious
Steve Vai - Answers
I really like Steve Vai and it not all fretboard wankery you know, although he goes get carried away sometimes!
Jason Becker - Dwellar in the Cellar
Pietro Mascagni - Intermezzio from Cavalleria (not too sure about the name but its the piece that plays at the beginning of 'Raging Bull')
edit: the Mascagni piece is from an opera its not written for the film. I think it might also be used in The Godfather III.

Memories of
Babel ... yeah, this track really made an impression on me.
If we're getting into movie soundtrack kind of instrumental pieces (or Jesus Christ instrumental pieces for that matter) ... I'd add Peter Gabriel's soundtrack for
Last Temptation of Christ, especially the (

I`ll be eagerly downloading many of the tunes listed here. Cant believe I forgot to list Call of Ktulu by Metallica. Been a huge fan of them ever since I was a kid. If "One" had no words in it I`d list it, as I absolutely love the guitar in it. Honestly I`d never ask for it any other way with that song though. The words make it an absolute work of art. The video clip is the icing to the cake. I`d also include the song "Baker Street" cept that has words here and there in it.
And no remixes dont count. They have to be instrumentals for the rules of this thread.
Agreed on intro songs to movies. Heard alot of really good ones.

Thanks for this, always meant to find it out after hearing it played the more desperate scenes of Deadwood.
