What's your style when playing this game? Use all kinds of weapons and assault the enemy with a full fledge siege or use your stealth and cut their necks with the dragon tooth?
I usually try to preserve my ammo for "good weapons" and use "lesser weapons" such as assault rifle, the first shotgun when I am in advantage. I always try to use meele attacks if posible. GEP is last resort against bots. First try to find explosive barrels and shot them, try to find one of those cheap one shot rockets launchers etc. But rarely do I just zip past an enemy or evade him.
Against bosses I always evade convo's. Simon is easy to beat if you can run past him until he stops following you and then use gep or sniper rifle.
Gunther is the easiest of bosses, you can run faster then him and 1 rocket + his head finishes him.
Commando's are another thing. I never engage in fight with them unless it is unavoidable. He must die from the first shot: Sniper, headshots, dragon tooth.
Black Men can easily be used against masses of enemies because of his corpse explosion, but they are quite resistant.

Tranq darts or baton on NSF & UNATCO troops. Sniper rifle on the commandos. GEP if I'm not being sneaky at that moment. My favourite weapons are the sniper rifle & the GEP.

Prod everything and everyone except major characters like Maggie Chow or Walton Simons who are cauterized by the DTS. (You can prod Commando's by hitting their spine from the back)
Interestingly, if you play carefully theres just enough prod charger ammo to knock out every enemy you need to see everything.

Huh - I may have to try prodding commandos some more, it never worked for me. The baton with max skill and combat strength does the trick, though, and doesn't use any ammo.
As for styles, well, what haven't I done. There's a lot of ways to play this game and I've done most of them. :D

Highly modified pistol and rifle until Hong Kong, upon which I use the Dragon's Tooth for pretty much the rest of the game.

Tranq/prod for most folks, even the regular MJ12 fellas, but the big guns in the conspiracy and the commandos get either a sniper round to the head or the DTS :ebil:
And that's only when I -have- to, since I try to sneak around as much as I can ...

Gas Grenades!
Pepper Spray!
Thwack with the Baton!
Oh, all right, that's usually just the first couple of missions, but it's fun.

I prefer crowbar for the NSF. They're dead before they can shot if you hit the correct spot aka. head

When I first played, the mainstay was a bullet in the head from a souped up stealth pistol or a sniper rifle for any enemy. Subsequent playthroughs I mainly prodded as much as possible. It does also work on the commandos, but it seems to me they only go straight down when you tag them from behind, right between the shoulders and just below the neck.
The most fun I've ever had in DX though, is in my current playthrough on realistic difficulty with the Smoke mod; I'm trying not to kill or render unconscious any characters other than those where there is no other choice. The Smoke mod helps enforce this because even with armor and the bullet resistance aug you are often dead within seconds even in conflict with a group of weaker opponents, and enemies seem more visually sensitive - no more crawling by unnoticed at 12 paces. .
It's been difficult but feasible so far. But I'm only up to Wang Chai, and I reckon some of the later levels will be more or less impossible to get by without a couple of proddings.

Stealth, Grenades, and Luring my opponents to their explosive doom is my style of play unless I feel its required to pick up a gun. ;)
