I just want to kick the shit out of people who put over Paul W.S. Anderson films, especially fucking Event Horizon.
BAHHH, I'M SAM NEIL THE SMOULDERING SPACE SATAN. MUHAHAHA. :tsktsk:
I enjoy campiness when it's well done, but it wasn't there, talentless hacks shouldn't be rewarded. Eg trust him to fuck up something as simple as Soldier, which was really nothing but First Blood in space.

Event Horizon is awesome like Megashark vs Giant Octopus is awesome, that is to say it excels at being terrible - though EH really saves the terrible up for the last act and then goes prima donna fucking awful.

I didn't think Event Horizon was terrible. I thought it was an effective horror film. Not "good for what it was" or "cheesy but good". I genuinely enjoyed it and it scared me. Sorry if that makes me a crazy person.

I love Event Horizon, especially when Sam Neill starts chewing the scenery. Of course, I loved Raul Julia in Street Fighter too.

I'm being harsher than the material deserves to be honest. For most of Event Horizon it is but a pale retread of Alien-type material but with MORPHEUS and it does try a few things on its own merits. I thought it was scary in the cinema, I will admit, but lost a lot of its allure in the transition to the small screen.

I caught Event horizon on the big screen back when it first came out and found it to be pretty ridiculous and inert, the kind of film where moody tension broken by a nearby door slamming ridiculously loud is considered scary. I actually found the horror elements pretty unearned and, as a result, unintentionally funny.
Event Horizon is terrible.
