I'm pretty much Ghandi, which is a big change from last time I think. I think I was left-wing authoritarian. When did I become such a liberal???

No surprises here -
Economic Left/Right: -4.75
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.26
Smack in the middle of the Leftist Libertarian quadrant. Which despite my religious background, I've been insisting is my position for years...

Y'know, I always knew I was pretty interested in a lockdown against the corporations,(Nor was I surprised that I was in the Libertarian Left in general) and pretty liberal about the peoples rights, but I'm a little alarmed how I was one step below the line that divides left authoritarian with stalin up there...

It's definitely been posted previously (more than once), but the questions haven't improved much over time.
"If economic globalisation is inevitable, it should primarily serve humanity rather than the interests of trans-national corporations."
To answer this you must first assume:
- "economic globalisation" (undefined) is inevitable
- that "serving humanity" and "serving trans-national corporations" are principles largely at odds with one another
- that "trans-national corporations" do not fall under "humanity" (which, amusing though that is, I can't really get behind)
Which is a twatty way of saying I think the concepts of globalisation are a bit wider than STRONGLY AGREE!!! and that once delved into, people will find facets they both agree and disagree with; and that those facets may not really fall upon the left/right, up/down axis with any clarity.
This test also doesn't seem to be able to highlight the most interesting aspects of the political spectrum: namely that people are often able to hold completely contrasting views and not even be aware of it.
Then you have obvious Marxism-fishing questions such as: "People are ultimately divided more by class than by nationality." which aren't so much designed to tell you something about yourself as to simply make it easier for the programming to turn you into a dot on some graph paper.
It also appears to be stuffed with false dichotomies - would you rather have THIS, or have THIS - even when it would surely be possible to enjoy the best of both (controlling inflation and having relatively healthy employment levels don't seem entirely mutually exclusive, for example). Again, simplistically dividing the test takers into CAMPS.
So, basically, YA BOO TO THIS.
Here's my semi-meaningless score anyway: Economic Left/Right: -6.75 / Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -7.13
According to the test, in the past six years I have ... got a tiny bit more authoritarian. Wowsers!

Phew, Paz, that's too intelligent for me*, although I think I understand what you are talking about:thumb:
Also, I have a dislike for 'tests' that do not give you a chance to sit on the fence - you either have to agree to some degree, or not. Where were the ' Dont know' or Dont give a Shit' options
*Not a piss take

Seems like I need to iron my brown shirt and polish my boots and go for a little march.
