I've got a similar system to you scumble:
Athlon XP 2700+ (2Ghz)
1GB RAM
Geforce 6600GT 128MB

CPU: Athlon X2 3800
RAM: 2GB DDR400 in dual channel
GPU: BFG Geforce 7800 GT OC.
I don't really play RPGs and yet I am very excited about OBVILON!!!!! :D

CPU: Intel Core Duo T2500 (2Ghz/667MHz FSB)
RAM: 1GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz
GPU: GeForce Go 7800 256MB
I can't wait to see how it performs on this lap-beast, especially since my HDD is only 5400 RPM. A 7200 RPM drive would require a lot more power and have been a lot more expensive, so 5400 is by far preferable. Still, I expect loading times will be a tad longish.
However I hardly think that will matter

OBVILON is going to be awesomeness liek whoa!
I have an Athlon 2000+, err 576mb RAM and a GeForce 4 ti4200. I'm going to have to upgrade that. :(

Fucking hell Dave, that's a beast :)
And I can't be arsed to post specs, but I can run it and am about a milimetre off the 'recommended' tab on the system requirements' lab analysis :)

You have been caught up in the general hysteria haven't you?

Yeah, that and it looks damn pretty.
Tomorrowinds was a bit too dull for me. I didn't enjoy read reams of text on a screen, the NPCs were a bit dull and the combat was a bit ropey. OBVILON sounds like they've tightened the nuts and bolts quite a bit so I'm willing to give it a whirl.

You pussies with your video cards.
Just like in Morrorun, I shall not be using a monitor to play it. I will use my heightened sense of smell and hearing, as well as a mystical sixth sense that I recieved from being made into a gaming god.

I would tend to agree with you there. I don't think I got an awful lot of value out of it after the novelty wore off, and the combat, as you say, is the pits really. If there is actually a bit of skill involved in OBILVOIN combat (as the E3 videos seemed to indicate) it should be quite fun.

There had better be intelligent combat in Oblivion. All their dick-waving about their Radiant AI system means pig-hoof if I can indefinitely dodge an enemies fireballs by just strafing, and not fearing getting hit at all.
All that malarky in the videos about blocking, dodging etc had better be more viable than just charging in and swinging my axe. I'm a professional killer, I shouldn't be limited to the same level of gameplay as you rubes.
