PS. I really think they should have done the Human/Romulan or Human/Klingon war.

Wasn't Spock supposed to be like a hundred years older than Kirk? "Young" Spock...more like young-ER Spock. This reminds me of when people expected to see a young Yoda when he would still be over 800 years old in Phantom Menace. People expecting to see Han & Chewie flying around in the Falcon when Han would only be a child.
Hopefully young Spock will have a significant number of years on Kirk.
