It was then that Matthew realised that his browser was from ... the future!

Then what have I installed? It's not marked as a release candidate, it's marked as 2.0. The article you linked basically says "dudes wait we still have to get the press release and some locales ready" which is mostly irrelevant to most people who want the en-us release.
Vigil on 24/10/2006 at 20:27
Except that en-us can very well be one of the locales that affected by last-minute changes, on one or more platforms; and the article also mentions some extremely good reasons not to post links to the 2.0 download in the first place.

I'm using IE7, and I like it. Tabs are one of best changes. I take the easy way out & run everything Microsoft because I don't want to deal with compatibility issues. Honestly, I don't care who makes my software if it does what I need. I run anti-virus & anti-spyware programs and have never had any problems with viruses.
Jeshibu on 24/10/2006 at 20:50
Fine. I think it's pretty unlikely that the en-us build will be pulled (it being probably the most used), but I've removed the link.
I don't really see any other good reasons for not linking it in the article, by the way (unless you consider "oh noes our bandwith, it hurts" a valid reason - that'll happen anyway when it's released).

This 2-hour difference changed everything.

Look asshole, I don't know what your problem is, but fuck off.
I never said he was bad person for downloading it early, or that his copy wouldn't work.
He said they had released it, I posted a link that said they had not actually released it, yet.
Maybe his early copy is different, maybe not. I don't care.
He posted an incorrect fact and I corrected him.
What the hell do you care?
Briareos H on 24/10/2006 at 22:23
You perfectly knew that his 'incorrect fact' would be outdated in the next few hours, so why the hell did you care in the first place ?
Jeshibu on 24/10/2006 at 22:27
Seriously, they had released it. The only difference between then and now is the link on mozilla.com and the press release. It was on a public FTP, marked as the final-this-is-really-it 2.0 version.
Also why did you assume he was attacking you
