Yeah, but brother's're just trying to make a dollar.
Thing is RBJ, you need to be blaming your fellow New Yorkers 'cause this hookeresk behaviour must work else they wouldn't do it. Just like the real hoors (and you know what they're like, rite?).

But name me another UK city that even approaches, for instance, the number of concert halls, theatres and other venues for live music.
On that level I'd certainly agree with you, and as you say there are plenty of opportunities for work and so on, cultural diversity and so on but living there isn't even a realistic proposition. Even in a dump like Wealdstone ropey 3 bed houses cost a small fortune. A friend of mine sole his 2 bed flat in Twickenham for over £300k a couple of years ago. He had a nice life because he was earning £500 a day when he bought it.
Another friend of mine had some friends in London who reported having been mugged or assaulted several times - in places like Bridge End though, but that doesn't encourage me much either.
It's probably best if you can manage to live in a half-decent area not too far from Greater London, but then you'd have to rent or pay through the nose for a flat the size of a cupboard. In my position, theoretically I could get a job paying a lot more in London, but the cost of living would probably eat up enough extra to make the increase in pay seem laughable.
Essentially, one has to pay a gigantic premium to live near museums, concert halls and fancy restaurants.
But there you go, some people really enjoy the pace of life in cities and it suits them well. Someone like me just finds it incredibly oppressive.

As computer contractor engineer I/we can earn anything upto £32k/$64pa and I consider that more than comfortable. £100k/$200k is seriously well off - more money than sense land...
I live in hertfordshire, in the south east of england - which cost more potentially than some other area`s. The sort of money Ive been reading about in this thread is the sort you of money that mostly only mummy and daddy have for their little...

And that, my friends, is what we call a triumphant return.

Live on Crete. Stuff like this almost never happens. Plus, one word: mousakka, all day, every day.
