I think it's different when you grow up in the London area and get used to the environment. For me the pollution, dirt and people are a bit too much, plus it takes the best part of an hour to get out of the place to see some green (that isn't just Richmond Park). The fact that there's a lot to do in London doesn't tip the scales enough for me.
Additionally, there a a fair few London snobs about and I like to return the feeling of disdain ;)
not that I'm suggesting you're one of those people that thinks anywhere in the UK that isn't London is boring and uninteresting...

Well there are some beautiful parts of the UK and some other great cities - Bristol is lovely, for instance.
It's a little sad that this is the way it is, but London is just the centre of pretty much everything. In terms of opportunities, culture and diversity it simply is the best. That probably goes for most capital cities.
I didn't grow up in London, but close by so I was familiar with it a bit from trips to theatres, art galleries, shopping, occasionally drinking; whatever, in my youth.
It is horribly over-priced though.

If only Mexico City wasn't A)so crime ridden and violent, B)polluted and C)crowded, it would be one HELLUVA city, for me, to live in.
:(

But it just isn't.

Well, perhaps not manufacturing, or fishing, but that wasn't really what I meant.
But name me another UK city that even approaches, for instance, the number of concert halls, theatres and other venues for live music.

[$200k] On that kind of money I guess London might be tolerable.
What.
Ever.

But enough of this. RBJ DOESN'T NEED A FUCKING CAB. Is anyone listening?
