I know that many people on these forums are of the literary persuasion, and so it is with high hopes that I ask this of you. I have a website under development, one which I'm fairly excited about. It's something I've been considering for a while, but only lately have I really been able to solidify things sufficiently and begin putting a product together.
The short version is that its a website for people to post their stories. That's been done already, of course, quite successfully. My idea is a little different; I'm hoping different enough to attract enough interest that the whole thing just ticks over comfortably.
My idea is that, rather than simply posting stories, people post story segments, one piece at a time. Readers can comment on each segment, with the explicit aim of suggesting the next direction of the story. The author then reviews the comments, picks one he likes, and uses that to create the next part of the story, which is in turn commented on, and so forth. A fuller description can be found on the site itself - (

It's interactive fiction with more author control, really. I have no idea if it'll prove popular or not, but frankly I'll be happy if all I get is a few people commenting on my own stories. It lends itself to an unpredictable style of writing which appeals to me, and that's really what started it all.
My request to all of you is to kindly take a look at the site as it stands currently, and give input. There's a few things I'm still of two minds about, such as: does the sidebar rollover work? Should I trim down the number of available genres? Anything, really. I'm very satisified with how the site looks & works at the moment, but since I don't have any kind of deadlines, I want to take my time and really do the best I can. Note that there are several pages that currently either go nowhere, or have forms that don't work yet.
Thanks in advance :)

Sorry to continue the trend of derailing the thread, but whatever did happen to the TTLG book club?

In a surprising twist, it turned out that people were much more keen on discussing their love of books than actually reading them.

I'll just rename the thread "Book Club c'est Back" and you lot can get on with it :P
