Okay, not so much cordially as "if you're not doing anything better that day" but you get the picture. We're having a games-related conference at the University of Bedfordshire, in Luton, this Wednesday, June 2nd, so any of you lot in and around the London area are welcome to come along. Obviously, from farther along too, if you're willing to make the trip.
The conference is called (
http://underthemask.wikidot.com/) Under the Mask, it's at its third edition, and focuses primarily on sociological issues around the gaming industry and scene, and also features some presentations on development concepts. I'm also in the first parallel panel, doing a presentation on interaction/control design, so pop in to see me say something interesting or make a complete tool of myself, we'll see. Also got a development showcase running in the lunch break with a couple of my mates in games programming, so if you'd like to have a look at game code or 3d asset production there's that too.
Anyway, for the rest the entire conference schedule is (
http://underthemask.wikidot.com/programme-summary) here, keynote by Zoe Mode's Ste Curran. I know there's a few TTLGers in the area, so if you're not working and feel like checking it out, gimme a shout and I can try and get you in without an entry fee. I attended last year and there were some very good panel pieces. There were also a couple of WTFs, but they were a minority and it's par the course for most conferences. I just figured it's worth giving you a heads up in case there are any takers.
Just to clarify this - in case any of you get any ideas, I've drawn you a diagram to prevent misunderstandings:

Wish I could come, but the only foreign country I'm visiting this summer is Canada.

Er...you know, when you're pimping your conference, it's probably not a good idea to have the "Not Us" section of the "Us/Not Us" picture look like much more fun.
