Anyone got any cure for a runny nose? I've been blowing my nose all day and tylenal plugs my nose up so I can't breath out of it. I really hope it doesn't hang around for my 3 hour final on friday or else my sleeve will be all snotty at the end. :eww:

I hear a blowtorch can work wonders.

You're supposed to swallow them.

Re: home remedies for heartburn... in a pinch, baking soda in water works pretty well.
I can vouch for this right now... works as well as tums ever does.
Drinking vinegar seems idiotic though - like trying to cure lung cancer by smoking an extra pack daily.

It doesn't. Vinegar is an acid, it's not going to neutralize acid the way tums would, and is useless as a substitute for tums.
However, if the problem is that your stomach isn't acidic enough, then it may actually help.
I've never really understood that. Milk gets rid of heartburn for me and apparently it's slightly acidic. My guess is that because the acid has moved up into the esophagus there's something about things like vinegar and milk that "flush" the acid back into your stomach, maybe to do with how your body reacts to acidic substances entering the body, but not those coming back out (which, if it did the latter, would prevent vomitting, a somewhat necessary bodily function)?

I think you meant to say, "Ventolin set to start at 4am at top volume when you're spending the night out and locked your door so your room mate can't shut it off."

I do hope you're joking here! :eww: That stuff is said to be more addictive than heroine.
Unfortunately, no humor involved. At least it's a lot less rollercoaster-y than the morphine was. It is a very bad thing to not have it around. I tried to tough my way w/out it for a week.....made it 3 days. I honestly have never felt worse, nor could I comprehend a human being who could suffer greater than I those 3 days.
and FYI, it's spelled 'heroin'.

It is slightly acidic, but it's still way less acidic than the contents of your stomach, so it will raise the pH and reduce heartburn (albeit less drastically than an alkaline antacid).
