Why is the writing mirrored?

That doesn't make any sense. Seriously, I've seen that sort of mirrored writing on race car doors before. Why do they do that?

I was thinking that the photo was reversed for better composition.

The sticker in the front, on the hood, and the writing on the car in the back are not reversed though.
Oh btw, that Edsel car... Isn't that the one that Patrick Swayzeeeee drove Baby to the lake with in Dirty Dancing? :D
EDIT: Forget it, seems that was a 1957 Chevy. Always thought that was a nice car anyway.

I'm just glad it wasn't an Edsil that rearended me. The Honda Civic absorbed most of the damage but I still feel like I've been kicked in the kidney by a cowboy boot. I'm self meding with Lambrusco but if it don't go away soon I'll see a doc and possibly lawyer.
Enjoy your hunk of steel. They are pretty done right. Friend had a 58 convertable done in silver and red. Nice. The last truely beautiful car was the 72 GTO an almost alien craftwork car and the 61 Corvette is so very sweet but the very peak was the 37 Auburn boattail speedster. Forget safety. Any man knows you have to sacrifice safety for beauty.
I have an old 30s Philco that could damn near double as a coffin too. I remember the smell of dust burning from the vacumm tubes when grandma fired it up and the wait for that wonderfully tinny sound. Had to make a bar out of it because the innards craped out. Grandma woudn't be pleased but she would forgive her favorite bless her sweet socks. Maybe I should cut back on the medication.

No modern cars are uglier than the Element and the Scion. For the love of god, what levels of stupidity must be coursing through a person's veins for them to actually WANT a car that looks like a cinder block on wheels?
Saw an element the other day with the license plate (Toaster)
vehicle was silver, of course.
I have to agree though, fugliest car ever.
