Yet more slave problems.... - by Jordana

All these slave-related problems must be my punishment for being a complete hypocrite by keeping a slave and being a Twin Lamps member simultaneously.....
OK, my slave is way too fast for me and keeps having to walk in circles and constantly stop and start when he's following me. It's really, really irritating. I have been into the editor, and lowered his Speed and Athletics again and again until they're now both at 10. I've also increased his encumbrance to about 75% by adding some heavy items to him. None of this has made any difference whatsoever :wot:
Help? :)

Say Jordy, this Twin Lamps thing, is this a MOD add-on or does someone invites me in after i freed 20 slaves? Can you believe it, I just started another game :)

After you've freed a bunch of slaves, go to Vivec in St. Delyn an find Ilmeni Dren. She is in South 2 I think. Twin Lamps is an underground organization to abolish slavery. She gives you a few quests that offer a challenge.

Sarius is right on, but Ilmeni Dren only gives you a couple of quests to do for the Twin Lamps, and that's as far as it goes; they aren't a joinable faction in the original game. I've got the Twin Lamps mod installed. You can get it from rpgplanet.com or morrowindfiles, and it expands the Twin Lamps by allowing you to actually become a member and rise through the ranks like in other guilds. The quests I've done so far have been pretty good; imaginative, believable, and they blend in well with the original game. I'd definitely recommend it

One thing to note is that Ilmeni only gives those quests to you if you're Hlaalu. It's theoretically possible to get 'em even if you aren't, but I wasn't able to find a way to do so without using the console.
As to your speedy slave, you might consider making a custom item that does a drain speed to get him to slow down; I've a hunch that some things (encumbrance, etc) don't apply to NPCs if they aren't spell-based.

This mod wouldn't conflict with any from Bethesda's official mods would it?

Forsythe-hold on a mo, I'm in Redoran, and I've had both of Ilmeni Dren's Twin Lamps quests, without using the console, or the editor, and before I installed the Twin lamps plugin too, so it can't be related to that......I've also done three of Edryno Arethi's Hlaalu quests, just by asking her about business.
Thanks for the suggestions about the slave. I was considering using a spell on him or something like that, but I've just heard from the maker of the mod who tells me that the slave is scripted to match the player's speed + 100, so the only thing that's going to fix it is to delete that part of the script. Which I have done, and now I'm fine-tuning his stats so he'll be about the same as me.....
Chaos Kin, I think the Twin Lamps mod has been tested with a lot of other mods, I would assume this includes the official ones, although I can't be sure. I'm using the Area Effect Arrows and LeFemm armor from Bethsoft and they've both been fine with Twin Lamps. I can't see any reason why there would be a conflict, expecially as most of the official plugins make fairly small changes to the game.....

K tnx Jordy, its just that i have all Beths mods loaded. And Oh BTW that Lefemm addon, it made the master MALE armorer (100 skill trainer) on Ebonheart wear them - armor boobies and all :laff: I think its his color. :laff:
Jordana Chal on 29/10/2002 at 02:50
Yep, that was a leetle strange. Poor old Sirollus, I think his superiors in the Legion forced him to do it to promote the new wares. If you're feeling generous, you could always rescue him by selling him some male armor of higher quality, and watch as he equips it with a sight of relief......

(Oh, and Edryno gives her quests to anyone; looks like it might be a bug, but it might be intentional as none of her 'business' topics require the player to be Hlaalu)
