Being as we have a nice warming debate going here. "Betray" also means to "Expose" something, in this case (according to RBJ, your lack of knowledge). While it is true that "Portray" means to "Picture" or "Demonstrate", in the usage posted by RBJ, both are applicable, and both are correct.
Betray is the more "classic" usage of the two. :ebil:
