Comprised of many of the pre-rendered cutscenes we've seen before but a few new scenes as well. Looks awesome as hell.

I'm a little disappointed with the flow of this one. Like, look at the scene where Jensen punches through the wall and breaks a guys neck, then turns around and walks away. It made an excellent, dramatic finale for one of the older trailers, but I don't think it's as good a fit as a middle section to this new one. Same with the overlayed monologue, seems to jump around a bit. It's like someone in the marketing department realised they had some extra, unused footage and decided to have it combined with some of the previously realeased stuff to make a new trailer, but without a consistent dramatic direction.
But yeah, looks tasty overall. And I'm starting to get really curious with what that giant, oceanic anus turns out to be.

Not quite. According to Coyotegrey, this version is actually the original, unedited one. So rather, the previous trailers are the results of them taking this and editing it to flow better.

Doesn't matter which the original was, this one is still dull.

The more I see in regards to this game, the more I think it would make infinitely more sense as a series reboot rather than a direct prequel, because it seems more and more difficult for me to see how this is going to slide into the level of technology/state of things/etc. at the time of DX.

No doubt bro, no doubt.

Yeah, the trailer is a textbook example in bad pacing and bad voiceover that makes no sense. And "I never wanted any of this" followed by an action brutality orgy sure brings the point home of Jensen being "a normal" guy thrown into this. I don't think anybody at Eidos cares or we wouldn't have gotten Schwarzenegger Robo dude and Jensen 3rdP Action SuperStar wth GITS tech and BladeRunner architecture. And gold replacing sepia ? that cleary addresses the monotony in game environments. All style and no substance sofar. They don't gamble so they just incorporated every cliche and bad development decision of the last years into it so they will sell: like 3rd person, coversystem, health regen and I'm sure big onscreen prompts to help you think.
I don't blame 'em, even with all that garbage the game is still a gamble with its "missions" and "alternate ways" and "decisions". I just fear that my decisions will only be: "should I shoot or stab this guy in the back while I make myself coffee during the animation triggering". I am glad they even attempt such a game nowadays I'm just realistic that it aint gonna be any good in DX1 standards or a game that I really enjoy like STALKER or AlphaProtocoll - to name a few DX-like games.
