The doctor versus
satan
WOW!!! I recall they did this in the Tom Baker years as well the whole '
seth/sutek/satan
' thing. I bet you they are gonna get complaints from certain
religious
nutters.
p.s. How scared would you be if your waiter at a restauant said to you:
The beast will rise with his army and go to war with god.
I think I'd run.
(Spoilers are for people out of the UK who might not have seen the latest episode yet.)

Here in the USA they aired the Season 1 finale last night. I don't know what ratings it is getting, but they say that Season 2 will be coming out soon so that is good news.
I like this Doctor as much as I did Tom Baker, for those of you old enough to remember him as the Doctor.

Which one's that? Because they did have to change it for series 2.

I used to sit next to Tom's great nephew at school. Nice lad, but he did nothing to assuage the theory that a spark of insanity runs through the family.

After seeing the Sarah Jane Smith episode, I watched some old Tom Baker eps.
Did SJS ever do anything except get captured and scream?
Rose ftw.

I haven't been able to see many episodes of the current series and I never saw the original. I really want to though. Plus, I absolutely adore the (

Ooh, my first thoughts about last night's (The Impossible Planet) epsiode were:
OMG! LOVECRAFT! CTHULU!
Which rapidly moved to love for the lovely MyAnna Buring "Scooti" character. I mean honestly, how gorgeous is she.
I quite like the idea of the
Satan
angle, however I reckon it's really
The Master
awakening and he'll form the main enemy for the rest of the season - which is a great move in my book.
Loving this season sofar anyway, it seems more "adult" for some reason, with darker and more intricate storylines. David Tennant is rapdily catching up to Eccelston's Doctor status - but he seems to take more of a backseat in terms of the clever thinking stuff compared to Eccelston. Ah well, shame i'll miss next week's episode for a while.

What I'm getting lightly tired of is the Doctor's "humanity is great!" spasmgasms on a nearly episodic basis.

Well they need to explain why an immortal time-traveler would care about humans on the planet Earth at all? I mean, he never thinks of the poor aliens trying to use humans for food.
And I really don't see why they had to pretend that things can't orbit round a blackhole, despite our planet orbiting around the black hole in the center of the galaxy ;)

Actually, we don't orbit around the black hole, we are spiraling in towards it. Physics dictates that NOTHING can be in geostationary or otherwise true orbit around a black hole, it is a physical impossability. We are due to be eaten by our galaxy's black hole in a couple of billion years.
p.s. I don't think it's going to be the Master. He is apparently well and truely dead, they probably will bring him back, but not in this story.
p.p.s. They have had
satan
episodes before. I will look up the name of the story for you. It featured the doctor and SJM. It also features mummies.
