If you didn't get registered for the Boat Game in time in the last case, were you effectively screwed?
No, you could have registered any time during the month. Since scoring was point-based, you could theoretically have come back from a late start. Some people did, I believe.

Ah heck, I thought I had dead-ended myself and stopped. Oh well, it was fairly cheap to register anyway.

I like how they give diseases names these days, as if that somehow makes us immune to their effects.
because that is
exactly the same thing I can't believe how clever you are

So, Aja, what was your point?
Aja on 24/4/2007 at 18:03
My point is that "viral marketing" has become such a trendy term these days and even though we're quick to point it out and label it as if we're really aware of what's going on, we still participate and post threads and propogate it anyway.

My point is in my pants.

Well, that's because the term "viral marketing" isn't all that accurate, especially in this case. The websites and clues that support Year Zero do raise interest in the album and should therefore result in higher record sales, but ultimately they tell the story to which Year Zero provides the soundtrack. The Year Zero campaign is another means of communicating entertainment, and the album is but a piece of it.
Also: on another topic slightly, are you nerds listening to this album? It took about three listens for it to sink its hooks in me but now it's taken over my life. Relevant Nine Inch Nails in 2007, who knew?

I couldn't care less about the marketing - is it any good is the question. I'll take a pointer then Stitch and get some.

You can listen to the entire album on (

I'm of the same opinion as Stitch here. Unlike With Teeth, which was a bit hit and miss with it's good songs vs. bad ratio, this one is an excellent listen from beginning to end. The ultra angsty political posturing can get a little cheesy at times, though.

I like the face that he's tying the product to the ARG, rather than the ARG being a standalone promotion. The (
