Aryon's Blight Cure - Cure Blight/Target/2 radius : 30 magicka, if you try to make it yourself it will cost > 150 magicka) while others are more expensive or inefficient.

Well, yes, but I was talking about ACTUAL cost. Like how much gold to buy the spell vs. how much to pay to have someone make it custom. This is not so much a consideration now that my char has mucho Au, but back when I was a young 'un and desperate (sp?) enough to sell plates and silverware for $$, it mattered.

The gold cost of a premade spell is a function of the magicka cost, the sellers disposition towards you and your Mercantile skill while the gold cost of a selfmade spell is a function of the magicka cost only. With a mid-high level (50+) Mercantile and 100 disposition the spells you buy will iirc always be cheaper than those you make if they have the same parameters, with low (15 or less) Mercantile you should expect to pay less if you make your own.

Talking about game difficulty brought Firemoth plugin into my mind which is IMO totally wrong way to make challenging quests. In case of someone havent played...
Im only a level 37 thief/fighter and I danced my way to the tomb, as the skeletons go down with one strike only to find the Lich/Skeleton King so tough that I couldnt make single mark on him.
I believe it would've been a lot better if the opponents would've gradually be getting better, or even stick some tougher opponents into couple spots (like guarding the Keep entrance etc).
Exactly. When you're young, inexperienced, and have no speechcraft or mercantile skills, nor money for bribes, it's cheaper to make your own.

I have no qualms with paying a bucketful of gold for a custom spell, if it was magicka efficient. Using the worthless premade fireball spells for example, will save you tons of magicka over using a tailormade one, even if the tailormade spell is far better suited to the situation.
