Grrr... I can't believe this character is giving me such a hard time! I mean, he is virtually impossible to beat with my character! He's reflecting all the Destruction spells that I've used so far against everything else, not to mention that my wee skill of 100 for Long Sword makes me look like I am swinging toothpicks at him. I guess I need a strong Absorb Health (I searched all over the place to find a character who sells that spell with no luck) or Damage Health; these appear not to be reflected. A strong Frost Damage on Touch seems to work too, but I run out of Magicka and/or Health too quickly, and since I carry all sorts of stuff, his Absorb Strenth nails me down after his first swing...
Well, I feel better now and I will go to sleep. So that tomorrow I can spend another afternoon for running around the island, building up my L34 Spellsword, and gathering the necessary things... boy, how frustrating.

Please refresh my memory- who is Salas Valor? I do remember the name but nothing else about him.

Right, a good point. :)
He's the missing Hand Almalexia sends you after, he's in the Godsreach district of Mournhold (yes, I have the Tribunal mod).

You could always levitate and shoot at him- but it does seem somewhat unsporting.

You can't levitate in Mournhold, unfortunately, so that's not an option....you could try getting a decent bow and arrow though and shooting at him from a distance. Other than that, your best option is to use spells and potions to giver yourself an edge. It sounds like you should stock up on restore health potions, assign a hotkey to them and just keep drinking them throughout the fight. Have you considered having Calvus the mercenary with you when you fight him? If you equip him well, he'd at least distract Salas for a while (translation: use him as bait  )

Originally posted by Ania You could always levitate and shoot at him- but it does seem somewhat unsporting. It does, but I think he's much more unsporting since he seems immune to
all my major abilities. I mean, what is he wearing/using that makes me feel like I have my Long Sword only 25 instead of 100? Resist Normal Weapon or something? Because if I use my Ebony Broadsword, only every fifth or sixth swing gets home while all the others make me seem like I'm fighting thin air. If I equip Dwemer Claymore, I do more damage, but, alas, I had had that piece enchanted with Fire Damage, which then gets reflected and does
me even more damage than him.
You cannot levitate in Mournhold, that much I have bitterly discovered for myself as well (why is that, by the way?). I have tried to distract him by summoning a Golden Saint and a Skeleton, but those guys seem to be much more eager fighting me than that guy (probably because I was trying to keep a distance from that scimitar by running backwards a lot).
Well, I shall go and get myself a bad Absorb Health spell; that one at least seems to work decently against this guy... we shall see ;)

Levitation probably isn't allowed so that you can't try and leave the city. However, jump spells are allowed (and if you try to jump out of the city you get a little message telling you that you can't). Anyway I don't think there'd be anything to stop you jumping onto a ledge or roof and shooting him, only problem is the AI generally just keeps running around if it can't reach you making it difficult to hit.
I managed to kill with a very strong restore health potion and a sword enchanted with absorb health (BTW I think absorb health can be reflected, it just doesn't have any effect on you if it is)
Once you kill him be sure to check out his armour, bits of it have some nice enchantments. (I'm still wearing his boots and right pauldron :))

Alright, I have just raised my Mysticism stat from 35 to 67 :o, got myself an Absorb Health on Touch, made an Absorb Health on Target, and tried again. The ranged spell does nothing but drain my own magicka, the one on Touch works nicely for a while - it's good to see his health dropping while yours is increasing, but he batters me still too fast, and I spend all 9 of my Quality Restor Health potions before getting through half of his health. And needless to say, by then he uses a strong Restore Health.
I think that if I will be prepared to get this guy, I can get just anybody in the game.

I have an excellent ring that I always use against particularly strong opponents.. It's called the 'Vampiric Ring', and it has a huge Drain Health and I think Fatigue that lasts for quite long.. I'm sorry I don't remember where I got it from, but it's the bomb!

Skeleton War Wizard in Ald Redaynia (on large island in Sheogorad region - see paper map)Cool! This might just do the trick :thumb: And yet another reason to go to Valenvaryon to max my Alchemy :)
I've tried to have one such artefact enchanted, but it cost an arm and a leg :tsktsk:
