So I know I can buy a "wireless adapter" for my Xbox 360 wireless controllers, and I may do that; but is it possible to use it wired? I thought that plugging the controller into a USB port (via a Play and Charge kit, for instance) and using the drivers would work, but I can't seem to get it to. Anyone know if this is possible?

No, it's not possible. The Play and Charge kit doesn't replace the wireless signal for communication with the system, it just charges the rechargeable battery while the controller is on. You'll need either a wired controller, or the 360 wireless USB dongle thingy.

The dongle is pretty good, by the way.

Thanks for the info - I'll get the dongle. Hopefully it's not insanely expensive.
