I think Marvel knows they can't write a comic book worth reading and so they focus on movies to try and stay afloat.
That's a really dumb thing to say. There are dozens of different writers making different books each week. Some of them suck (hi jeph) but to say they all do is ridiculous. You could no doubt take the "feh, western comics " position which is equally ridiculous. Either way, I kind of doubt you're reading any Marvel comics at the moment

Understanding where narrow personal preference ends and subjective reality begins is not exactly dethtoll's strong suit, which wouldn't exactly be a big deal--this affliction strikes a lot of us, after all--if he didn't feel the need to weigh in on EVERYTHING.

Here as in this thread, this forum, or your life?
It's nothing to be ashamed of as we're all walking founts of opinion here on the internet, but you might want to work on a more constructive approach.

The problem is that you're making the assumption that I confuse opinion with reality, which I don't. I make broad, sweeping statements because that is my opinion. I think Marvel couldn't write a good story to save their lives (with the exception of some Punisher stuff and that Spiderman comic that didn't have Spiderman in it) and yet some people like it. If they want to confuse overwrought melodrama for character development, that's perfectly fine by me, as I don't talk to wiggers anyway.

Unfortunately, your
opinion seems to be formed purely on ignorance. Marvel does not write a goddamn thing. The company employs writers with various levels of talent. Sometimes those writers produce crap. Sometimes they don't.
God knows I've been down on them as a company because I find superheroes generally to be boring and adolescent in a bad way (although sometimes they're (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nextwave) gloriously adolescent), but despite that I wouldn't dismiss everything they produce as crap, because they emply some very talented people.

You are the least qualified to make this call, for the record.

You might want to try (

I'm not paying any attention to that bastard Fraction until he he gives me a non-hardback Casanova vol. 2.
