I like the idea of being able to see your body in first-person view, though the actual implementation usually doesn't work all that well.
The view when looking down is often particularly weird; I'm put in mind of F.E.A.R., where you could see your legs when looking down, but not your torso, which gave me the strange impression of the main character being so stiff that he could only bend at his waist and not bend his neck at all.

I agree. There are certain things it would require to really work, and I think a better field of view would help.
