Unless of course the story and character development (ie choices) are an integral part of the gameplay. Which is what they've said they were doing all along. If your imagination can't stretch to such a game design possibility stick to complaiing about the unified ammo.
The controls we know can be changed. The performance is silly because we can't assume the code is final (since it never is in pre release demos)

First of all story will never, ever, have priority over gameplay in a game. Period. It doesn't matter how good the story is if the gameplay stinks. Anyone who does put story ahead of gameplay is better off reading a book.
Secondly if performance issues were not a problem IS wouldn't have created a faq telling the people that they would fix the performace issues for the final version via a patch. It is called common sense. :tsktsk:

Clearly the concept of merging gameplay and story eludes you so any further words on that subject are wasted. I'll just say, though you might not understand it, it was the dev's intention for this game from the very begginning. Hell, it was their intention in the first game to a lesser extent.
But performance; What the fuck? Pre release demos are never final code; ever. Game makers and publishers don't release faqs about fixing stuff in patches, they just say 'content is not representative of the final product' or some such. You will not know how the game runs on your machine until you install the released game. This is the way it has been in PC games for some time now. This is not unusual.

More serious are the game's performance problems. While the graphics are acceptable and quite attractive at times, they're not great enough to justify the game's surprisingly sluggish performance. I did most of my playing on a 2.8 GHz P4 with 512 MB RAM and a Radeon 9700, and couldn't maintain a totally smooth framerate, even at 640x480.
The above quote is from the review of the
FINAL version of DX:IW from gamespy.
I love it when people try to act intelligent only to be proven undeniably stupid.
Like I have said in the past if the demo wasn't a representation of the final version they wouldn't have made a faq promising patches for all of the problems, but apparently that simple concept "eludes you".

lol, I feel tha love from you, Fat Thief. It wafts off of you like pink roses and bunny fuckin...
Anyway, what Muzman had said was a good educated guess as to why the demo wasn't exactly running too slick on even the best machines and it turned out to be wrong. Doesn't mean he's stupid or anything like that...so take whatever pills you take to curb that anger of yours and calm down.

Yeah, like I am going to let the guy patronize me while being wrong in the process and not take the opportunity to prove how stupid, hardheaded and wrong he has been all this time.

Hardheaded is a word I'd use to describe you more than anything, guy. :thumb:
But anyway, I hope you got your nut by rubbing his mistake in his face. I can tell by your post that you're really giddy about it...and for that, well hey, I'm happy for ya.
Fat Thief on 27/11/2003 at 11:52
I get the feeling you are in the same camp as he is.
Renzatic on 27/11/2003 at 12:09
I'm in the wait and see camp if that's what you mean.
Well, I'm off to play some watered down kiddie console games and huff some gasoline. I'll be back when I get all stupid dumb and then root for DX2 some more.
