Using his dread arcane powers, Warren Spector has possessed Chris Carollo and used him to create (
http://66.193.119.177/index.php?showtopic=205527) this FAQ thread on the newly renovated ISA forum.
He endeavours to reassure fans that his team is grateful for fan comments and that they are aware of some of the issues in the demo, and are discussing the possibility of a demo patch or updated demo addressing these concerns. It's also an FAQ with some fixes and such, and promises future updates.

If anything that faq re-affirms the fact that PC gamers have been given a BIG middle finger by Ion Storm.

Like the first game, Deus Ex: Invisible War is all about putting player experience first, offering multiple solutions to problems and letting players decide how to interact with the world.
Is taking away a simple function like leaning letting me decide how to interact with the world?

We stand by our game design choices and don't believe we've done anything that "dumbs the game down" or compromises the gameplay experience. Have we delivered exactly the same game we did in June 2000, when we released the first Deus Ex game?
All I can do is wag my head in disbelief. Either they are doing a horrible job of lying or they are actually stupid enough to believe that.

We hear you loud and clear on issues related to performance and interface.
After the second quote do you really believe that?

The full game offers players many more choices than the demo -- more biomods, more tools, more weapons, more character options, more paths, more freedom to choose missions...more of everything.
They obviously don't understand where the problem lies or are just spewing propaganda...most likely the latter.

Already on my slow way there, but pardon me if I don't speed up the process for you.

I admire Fat Thief's integrity, he doesn't melt to butter when a dev says something. He sticks by his guns, and his points are sound.
Wish I was a bit more like that.
What they need to realize is that options are NEVER a bad thing, ALWAYS a good thing. Just give us options, give us that alternate UI... give us a hold crouch in addition to the toggle crouch... give us lean... give us more functions to bind in general. Don't leave any function unbindable.
The more I look at some of the older screens, the more it seems like there has been some kind of drastic step down in visual quality, and map detail. If that bar shown in older shots is the same bar as the demo, and it seems like it very well may be... it has taken a serious hit in detail. And can NPCs no longer take a seat in chairs? that would rule!
Why have features that were in the first game been taken out, and why have features from earlier builds been taken out? That is the fundamental question here. I think the fundamental ANSWER is the god damn XBox.

Dropping texture resolutions does that. ;)

You're leaping to conclusions here (that it is the same bar, that NPCs can't sit down, that...) and, worse, randomly hurling blame at the X-Box. C'mon, can't you at least only jump to one conclusion, rather than leaping to new heights on the basis of your previous conclusions?

So, when we started working on Invisible War, we targeted the console from day one. This time it wasn't an afterthought. Every decision we made along the way considered that we would be running on a console. And I think you'll notice the difference. - Matt Baer
It's like people refusing to admit the sky is blue.

Just look at his post. First, he declared that the maps were less detailed, based on an assumption. He then assumed that the reason for this assumed truth was the X-Box. That's not logic, it's a bloody triple-jump...

Has it been
confirmed that the demo contains lower res textures than will be available in the final game? if so, where? I do agree this is likely, but I've yet to see it officially confirmed.

Well actually my impression of a general reduction in visual quality and detail of architecture stands on it's own, I was just wanting to provide some kind of example. But even if that isn't the same bar... my feeling is not entirely dependant on that.
As for spewing bile at the XBox, it deserves it. I've seen it before... it has gone throughout the galaxy devouring planet after planet, and that thing is headed straight for Cybertron!
