Goddamn kids these days, they have to learn the facts of life- sometimes you have to kill things with hammers no ifs ands or buts about it.
Haha OK I broke down and laughed.

I learnt early in life that sometimes, one may have to freeze and microwave hamsters - for the sake of all mankind.

I'm still wondering why the whole thing happened. Was it a punnishment for the kid misbehaving (most likely?) Or was it something the hamster did?
Also the mom's photo screams psycho.
And I love the "stop: hamster time" tag :D

You people can't read.

They were counting on that hamster to make it to college. At least it was an example to the cat who is studying extra hard now.

Huh? No...the kid got a bad report card, so his mom punished him by making him kill his hamster.
That's pretty messed-up. Not only because of the hamster, but because of the kid. How did she convince him to do it? My guess is that she beat him until he complied (notice that she was also charged with battery). Odd that the article doesn't state that, though.
Master Villain on 26/1/2010 at 05:53
Or she'd beaten the child previously, and so he complied with the order to commence Operation: Hamstersplat out of fear.
