i'd sure try. in fact i forgot trying to play dx as a rambo, rather than not trying the silent approach. i wanna be forced into the other direction as well :p

Anyone know Medal of Honor? The mission with the sub?
I think that could be exactly the example of a "no weapon draw" mission.
In that level, you get a German uniform, and have to get into a sub. You steal papers, and show them to the guards, so they let you pass. If you draw your weapon, buzz, alarm. That's the planned way to play the level. You can, however, also just take out your gun, and shoot every enemy insight until you're at the sub. I think that's describing pretty well the choice of drawing or not drawing...

Hmmmmm..... without drawing a weapon.
I would try of course, but would I have to pick pockets?:p
Seriously, I believe that if you try to do that, well, you'll not just want, but practically NEED some sort of reward for doing so. To make up for the the equipment, and such you are missing out on by not searching bodies and such.
Personally, I would probably go more for the non-lethal approach. Remember: you can still kill without drawing a weapon. You can hack security to have turrets kill other people, or, if you are like me, SNAFU, JUMPING on an enemy. :ebil:
Yes, I killed a MJ12 trooper in Vandenberg by jumping on his head and moving with him.:laff: :laff: :laff:

It was most embarrassing falling on that trooper's head, since I was playing "non-lethal force". I had intened to simply land next to him (I had Run Silent on) so I could use the prod on him and hopefully get his buddy too. But noooooo..... I fall right on top of him, he grunts, and I'm like stuck on him, his buddy turns and says "Who the hell...?" and then the guy drops DEAD. I'm like "I didn't do it.", but I found that he wasn't going to listen to me.
Sigh.... and I had gone up to this point killing ONLY Anna Whats-her-face, and Gunther, both of them mechs. Luckily I reloaded, but got tired of this "non-lethal" thing. I remember the last thing I did in that game before I deleted all the saves from that game, was using a LAM on some diver who REALLY PISSED ME OFF at the SoCal off-shore lab. So I still have yet to beat DX in the most non-lethal manner possible. And on Realistic too.

Never draw a weapon? It felt so good to kill on Deus Ex.

What I'd like to see in DX2 is some sort of compensation for a player who's willing to play the game in such a drastically different way. I would like to see that too. I would like to point out, in case you didn't know, some rather sad people spent a long time trying to get past Anna and Howard without killing them. IIRC, they got past Anna by using a LAM (or probably a less harmful grenade) in her direction, causing her to run and open the door. This seems to be a bug, but IRL I suppose someone running away from you might accidentally help you in this way? I don't think they managed to get past Howard strong, but I think they decided that the most humane way was landing on his head and killing him. Or, actually, you could probably encourage him to LAM himself.

yeh i think i would do it without drawing a weapon ONLY after i had done it using my usual rifle expert/computer hacker type guy, because i feel i have to become sort of "one with the game" and get used to its interface story characters before i can not draw a weapon. a bit like dx cause i wanted to know about the story then i could do a take on it without a weapon like approaching it from another angle
