I do not know how many people here used AskJeeves and I never really used it myself, but I was still quite shocked to find the domain name had been shortened and the beloved butler had pushed out of the picture.
This apparently didn't happen that long ago either (February).
Kind of sad, I think. Jeeves made the engine a bit unique. Now, as "Ask.com", it's just "another search engine."

It was a nicely quirky aspect to it, but frankly it's probably a sensible move. Although maybe they could have retained Jeeves if people actually accessed it via the original domain name.
Also, Jeeves is not (strictly speaking) a butler :)

It was the first search engines I used, and I still use it occasionally.
