Probably the wrong section so mods feel free to move it somewhere more appropriate

Amazing and impressive!
It would be acceptable if T4 devs let the player make the decisions regarding the moves NuGarrett has to make in the parkour sequence(s) in NuThief, but that's not likely the case. I could see Garrett making some of the moves the man did in the video, but not all of them. I never thought of 'our' Garrett as a buff athlete, so it's difficult for me to imagine the old Garrett doing anything overly strenuous, as in parkouring his way across rooftops when just jumping, mantling, and climbing would suffice.
I couldn't help but notice the parkour-guy's hands were stretched out in front of his body throughout most of the video. ;)
:laff:

Cool video, nice effect with the wide angle, made the jumps look further away.

Just a query Dia, have you played Dishonored, because Corvo (and Daud in the DLC) both have their hands outstretched, how did that sit with you?
Also I would have to agree, I never saw Garrett as an elite athlete, more a cautious cat burglar.

Now lets see if he can parkour with a super awesome duper extending/folding bow, arrows, a sword, flash bombs, lock picks and loot.

Yeah iirc in Mirror's Edge your hands come up a lot though they're not usually outstretched if you're not moving. They even give you a red glove just to draw the eye to the hand animations (which are pretty good).

That was awesome. Man, now I wanna play Mirror's Edge again. :)

I think it's okay to leave here if people want to talk about possible parkour in T4 and this is a springboard to that, since that's the direction it seems to be going anyway, and that's worthwhile to have in this forum.
If people would rather talk about Mirror's Edge then we can move it to GenGaming too. But if we're mostly talking about T4 then we'll keep it here for now.

Meh, too much time spent looking at walls, should have used a 3rd party camera man for those scenes...

Luckily not exactly outstretched in the way that we raise the issues in T4, so the parkour hands in the video can be okay. Moving fast swings the parkour hands into view one at a time, while Garrett needs to swing nothing when slow for stealth. The parkour hands are also there because the head looks down all the time to fall without dying, unlike Garrett who just stares forward to spot guards and items. Even crouching, common sense may prevail to hold hands on the knees for leverage or keep the weight of a weapon lower, instead of sticking them out in front for hours and getting tired before the more difficult big heist has even started.
You are right that Eidos can not use staring at boring walls as an excuse for third-person climbing. Staring at walls in the video still gives us a sense of amazing accomplishment with the difficult movement in a first-person view.
