I think these kinds of threads tend to be incredibly subjective
Well duh, for a start people can only go on the films that they've seen. Which is going to be a lot less than 1% of all films "ever made". I mean, if we're really talking about the worst films
ever made then I think one of the short films I did last year would have to be a serious contender. I'm a film major, I watch a lot of films, from amateur to obscure to mainstream to experimental, and I stand by my comment that Matrix Reloaded is the (second) worst (wide-release) film I can remember. I generally avoid films that are obviously going to be shit, like Speed 2 etc that you mentioned, but Reloaded fulfils both your criteria. It is terrible.

But in all seriousness. . .the worst movie I ever saw was this one (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1bJ7EmwNlyo)
It's called The Final Sacrifice and not only was it bad enough to be MST3K-ized, it was so atrocious not even Mike and the robots could save it. Their wisecracks make the flick watchable (barely) . . but that's about it.
Watch it, weep, and then plot an endless genocide upon Canada, the country that created this steaming bucket of puke. How can it be anything less with a main character named "Rowsdower?" :p
The Final Sacrifice is awesome:D Best thing to come out of canada for sure.

So long as you understand that you're in (

Cabin Boy. Possibly the only redeeming thing in that movie was Dave Letterman with his Monkey. Possibly.

other than that, matrix reloaded.
We sure have different tastes in movies then - Reloaded is my favorite of the three. :weird:
(
http://imdb.com/title/tt0092746/) Cherry 2000 was pretty bad. Probably the worst movie in my 600'ish DVD collection.

The worst movie ever made was a little cinematic treasure called Manos: The Hands of Fate.
Heck, the mads even apologized for forcing it on Joel and the Bots.

Cabin Boy is not for you. They set out to write a surreal, disjointed comedy and that's exactly what they ended up with. Great little movie.
Now Starship Troopers, that was a crash-and-burn failure in pretty much every regard other than the special effects.

I'd totally forgotten about that disaster; wish you hadn't refreshed my memory.

I thought Cabin Boy was funny. :o
My nominee: Clan of the Cave Bear, starring Darryl Hannah as a tall, blonde, Aryan-looking Cro-Magnon raised by Neanderthals. The woman who wrote the book sued the producers, it was so bad.
I think it's universally agreed that the worst movie ever made was Plan Nine from Outer Space, but it's so old few people have seen it.

how 'bout "Bloodrayne" and "the house Of The Dead" (this one's old but even for it's time it's till crap - and it's made by the same director that made Bloodrayne so...)
