Well... we agree to disagree. :p

OMG what experts you are ...
Bronson is definitely the best voice act in SS2! She is a soldier if you kids know what that means. She is no cute young nurse, no highly educated scientific staff, no elderly mother-like type, no she is a soldier FFS, and a woman at that.
You guys could step over a piece of pure gold in the street and think it is a piss-stained stone.

Experts and kids don't enter into it, and I know well what she is.
I had well founded reasons for not being convinced, mainly grammatical inflection and modulation. Initially as I played the game and was busy doing other stuff besides critiquing audio logs for their subtle variations while dealing with machine noise and trying to stay alive, she sounded like someone who was reciting poorly from a written script. Now I have gone back and purposefully listened to her logs, and after getting into a quiet area where I can really listen and absorb it, she does convince me.
So I'll admit I was wrong, but only because I at first thought her logs were done a lot worse than they actually were, when she actually has some of the better logs in the game now that I've taken the time to pay attention to them.

I think that the almost complete lack of emotion in Bronson's logs fits with the personality that we get to perceive as hers throughout the game. She's this military-type person, with a pretty cold character, who doesn't think twice before blowing the brains out of a fellow crew member whom she thinks might be infected. I don't expect her to be leaving logs sounding like Valley girl Rebecca.
The problem is, Bronson's character should have been a
man. It is very difficult to make a woman sound "hard" and intimidating if her voice isn't naturally that way.

Bronson's logs aren't the ones that annoyed me the most. I actually really don't like the logs going back and forth between Tommy and Becca. A story of horror and suspense could've done without such an exaggerated love story, if you ask me. That, and the ending video was pretty stupid, IMO.

I agree with it being waaaaay too exaggerated, but I think it does add something- there's people still alive on the VB, and you actually care about them more than, 'Why won't they die so I can loot their corpses?'.

What do you know, maybe she's a transie. It shouldn't be so uncommon at that time with some sex altering nanites purchased at ValueRep.

I hope Sigourney Weaver comes around and slaps you with some alien eggs. Because you just completely missed why they made her a woman and not another tough guy clone.

The Difference is: Sigourney Weaver (Ripley) was a convincing character.
