But then every Palestinian is a potential suicide bomber...

Ok I meant (IIRC) every Israeli man or woman has been officially trained as a soldier, but there is no official internationally recognised classification of every Palestinian man and woman as either a soldier or a suicide bomber.

Well I don't see much into Israeli military system, but I suppose it basically works like in any other country with compulsory military service, once you finish your term, you are reserve soldier, but still a civilian, to the moment when the army calls you back and issues you uniform and weapon. Nay?
Convict on 3/7/2006 at 12:23
Dunno, fortunately we don't have to waste a year or so of our lives doing military service... :p
Yeah you may be right, my concern was that if you could consider every civilian as a soldier then the rules of combat might seem more unclear.

I was the last generation who did a compulsory military service in my country, fortunately I had the option to serve as a civilian. Wasted 13 months for a miserable salary, with small advantages like public traffic for free. At least I had some fun.

Even though all Israelis do military service many do with reluctance and when they become reservists (after the compulsory 1 or 2 years) they are most certainly civilians. What a stupid question. What is the point of asking this? You really amaze me.
The latest news is that some militant group (who cares which?) has given a deadline for the release of all these prisoners. What a bunch of tards.

Once I chatted with an 18 yo Israeli chick who was about to join the military.
And she was a virgin. I hope she's still ... intact.

What we need (and aren't going to get) to help us even begin to understand all this is someone from the "other side," who can offer that perspective. There's obviously a huge disconnect from reality for any group who sets deadlines for prisoner releases while enemy tanks are rolling through their country (although I doubt we'll ever see We Love the Palestinian Information Minister), but where does that come from?

I once found myself on a forum populated by only army people and they had a babe thread where every babe had to be a real soldier in an army. There were a lot of Israeli girls in that thread and they were the best for sure. A lot of them also had MySpace or just acted like the typical college girl, the Israeli army didn't really exude professionalism.
