We didn't come up with the term "al Qaeda", they already used that for their base and training center in Afghanistan. The organization I refer to as "Al Qaeda proper" (to distinguish it from official franchises like the Salafist Group for Preaching and Armed Combat and others) eventually took to calling itself the International Jihad Against Zionists and Crusaders (although it is only recently that they've been implicated in any attacks on Israel, and those weren't too significant), but Zarqawi's group which was once called Jihad & Monotheism changed its name to Al Qaeda in the Land of the Two Rivers/Iraq when it became a franchise.
Also, there is real planning and command going on with Bin Laden and Zawahiri. Attacks that were planned in the U.S were (

Surely you can give an amorphous enemy a name and still understand that it is amorphous. And even if it were the case that Osama is merely writing checks, his relationship with the people to whom he is giving money certainly establishes a network. Quibble over semantics all you want; that network is what is being fought.

What I said was "most of those parties [terror/resistance groups in the region] now accept Israel's basic right to exist". You said that was "a blatant lie". I repeat my challenge to you to prove that that is the case.
Can you name those terrorist organizations please?

We've been waiting three months now for this thread's resurrection. Thank you for your timely action in this matter.

It shows nicely though how what was once the expected cause for destruction of the world can turn into a lame old thread on comm-chat.
Probably works the other way around too.
