At least the Israelis care about their people and will do whatever it takes to protect them.
You see, this is where things start to go wrong, because in a kind of nationalist way it assumes Israelis are more important than anyone else. Combine several countries doing "whatever it takes" and you've got yourself a war.
The irony is that the Israeli government is achieving the opposite of protecting its citizens, much like the US government. Aggression begets aggression.

I wonder why BBC still writes Israel does this and that "as its offensive in Gaza
to free an abducted soldier continues."
So World War 1 was not a war after all, it was just some fights to avenge the assasination of this other guy in the Balkan?
And this line
Quote:
A spokesman for US President George W Bush has said Israel has a right to defend itself and the lives of its citizens.
Hit me hard too. How about the right of Palestina to defend itself and the lives of its citizens?
The first thing that Europe (and the US) should do is finally acknowledge that this is a war (that has been going for decades).
The definitions and rulings about these things are horribly abused now. The US use the term "war on terror" to curcumvent some basic rights of their opponents, but at the same time, others do not count it as a war (or the war in Iraq is over, right?) in order to supply arms and support despite their "neutrality"...

hmmm If WWIII does happen and the global economy is sufficiently damaged the world may have to resort to an economy based on gold. And then South Africa will become a world power. And we shall rule with an iron fist!

Based on gold for what? For tools and technology? I doubt it. And do I detect a shade of Asimov-Foundation-pessimism (it's lost already, we can't stop it anymore so let's look at the time after the collapse) in your post?

No, that's dry economic theory. Gold is a commodity which keeps it's value when
money with virtual value caused by flat currency system become useless papers. In such case, advanced technology and luxury products also go to hell.

Wouldn't that be a golden fist?
Erm, now that I say it, 'golden fist' sounds really dirty.
Like 'goldfinger' but... more.
