I actually like the Netherlands and find it quite sad that they failed to qualify.

I like the country of the Netherlands too.
But I don't like our national football team. Over-hyped, over-paid, mediocre idiots. I don't care they are losing. Serves them right.

Serbia 0-2 Brazil
Aw, I was hoping for another World Cup upset here. Brazil took control of the game after an even beginning, but Serbia had a really good phase around the 70 minute mark at 1-0 down when they had two or three great chances to score. If they had managed to score from one of those, I'm sure that we could have seen yet another big surprise. Instead, Brazil scored another goal soon after that and killed the game. Neymar was a bit selfish again, but stayed on his feet for the most of the match!
Switzerland 2-2 Costa Rica
I only watched the short highlights package to avoid a football overdose. All four goals were rather nice! I think this would have been a more entertaining game (than SRB-BRA), even if Costa Rica had nothing to play for anymore. But that's what I love about the World Cup - it was a "meaningless" game for Costa Rica, but the fans and the players still seemed to enjoy the late equaliser and the good result quite a bit. Just like Panama were celebrating their 5-1 consolation goal the other day... :)

The Netherlands usually play some entertaining football, that's why I'd love to see them in the World Cup again. In recent years they've been a bit of a mess, but I hope that they've learned from their mistakes and get back on their feet soon.
I like the orange shirts too. :D

Senegal 0-1 Colombia
The biggest disappointment of the tournament so far... Senegal are out! :( Senegal were the better team I think, but they were way too def today and thought that they could keep their goal clean for 90 minutes. Colombia scored from pretty much their only good chance, and Senegal ran out of time to catch up again.
Japan 0-1 Poland
Didn't watch this. Japan qualified for the last 16 even though they lost... Fair Play points were the only thing that separated them and Senegal. Japan (and Poland) spent the last minutes of the game just walking around the field a passing the ball around a little, knowing that it would be enough for them. That kinda sucked.
England 0-1 Belgium
I was still so disappointed about Senegal that I could not concentrate on the game. Not a great game at all. Belgium looked like the better side. Some might say that England lost on purpose, making their way to the final possibly a bit easier. They didn't do their best, that's for sure.

I'm even more surprised than you are. My prediction was 3-0 to Mexico, not the other way around. I have to admit, Sweden did surprisingly well, and I'm usually the first to expect them to fail early. No matter what happens to Sweden now, they can no longer fail. Getting to the last 16 is a pretty great achievement. Switzerland will be a tough opponent, but I can't see why Sweden couldn't beat them as well. :)

Fair enough. I use the word "fail" in a slightly different sense than you do. I should rather say they've succeeded to go this far.
