Denmark 1-1 Australia
This match provided more entertainment than all three games yesterday combined. A draw was a fair result I think. Denmark were marginally better on the first half and Australia were better on the second. Another VAR penalty goal - I wonder how many games do they have to play until the players realise that deliberate handballs inside the box are a very bad idea now.

I didn't really see any dives except for moroccans throwing little hissy fits all the time trying to get a free kick
CRonaldo's theatrical fall after a minimal contact near the end of the game was pretty embarrassing to watch. :p But it was his smug smile afterwards and how he did the "TV screen sign" in the air in protest that really annoyed me. Besides, that should be a yellow card offense under the new rules, but of course he got away with it... unlike the Moroccan coach who was cautioned for doing the same.
Didn't you see how Pepe tried to fool the referee by feigning an injury too? A Moroccan guy gives him a friendly pat on the back, Pepe pretends that he's got a serious head injury, and dramatically falls on the ground in "agony". Typical Pepe, so it didn't come as a big surprise.
But why don't the almighty VAR gods do anything about it?
Thor on 21/6/2018 at 15:05
Yeah the VAR (Video whatever Referees) are more shit than not, as it seems from the last few matches. This hints at a more fundamental layer of the flaw of football also, which is that - whoever manages to kill each other and come on top - should win, lol. Introducing rules is just introducing manipulation of rules. But getting players for that sport would be far more expensive, so the referee nonsense is understandable.
Anyway, I really didn't follow everyone that closely except CR7. He did 1 or 2 falls where the video looked so-so/arguable, so I just took the word of the commentators on that, that it was at least plausible. If he still has that tick to dive, then yeah, being the #1 Youtuber and doing that is understandable, but I would expect the referees or at least the commentators to call him out on that. In the end only the player himself would know the truth on this anyway.
Pepe? Who knows, if he did dive a bit, I certainly wouldn't put that as worse than the shit that moroccans tried to pull. I mean, come on. That said, Portugal did disappoint, but I hope they reignite themselves soon.

Shit-ass Afrofrance got into 1/8th finale. Absolutely (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u5CVsCnxyXg) No Surprises, but saddening nonetheless.
Let's
hope the Argentinian game isn't as shit. My anti-favorites currently:
- France and Spain battling for the #1 spot (I think France may actually win that title this time around, like they did 2 years ago)
- Argentina at #3. Messi might even push it a bit less in the antifavorite area but hasn't given any reason to yet.

France 1-0 PeruNot a spectacular game. Peru looked quite positive, but France managed to kill their game effectively. France seemed to be happy enough with the one goal lead, and apart from a few half-decent chances from Peru, they didn't have too much trouble defending it.

Shit-ass Afrofrance
I get it that you don't like them, but even though I'm not a big fan of their current style either, I'd probably choose other words to express my thoughts. :weird:
Thor on 21/6/2018 at 19:59
I can refrain from the niggerword, but afrofrance is just the only accurate way to call the french team this decade and partially the last couple as well. And yeah, I don't see how anyone could like their style. They've pretty much become the new spain, only using more violence than boredom as their weapon. I was a bit drunk when I wrote the previous post so if the mods can forgive that then I appreciate. Also, Afrofrance is just a reference to Afroamerican, which is supposed to be the respectful way to greet the blacks. Even referring to them as blacks can be racist. Possibly should be offended when I'm called white, but whatever, that's a different thread. Don't you feel sorry for the sucker that bought pogba though? I kinda do, lol.
MUCH more importantly than anything, however, LUKA D. MODRIČ & CO RAPED ARGENTINA, VERY NICE! This means the least antagonistic force is nearly out of the picture (Hope Croatia lets Iceland win them in case Iceland loses for Nigeria and then the other two draw. Otherwise Croatia rape everyone in the group games again and lose in the 1/8th finale, which is getting kinda old). This leaves the other two more room to spread the cancer, though, and Afrofrance is already going to, as we see... which is very not nice.
France v Peru was completely forgettable, don't even remember what happened.

Argentina 0-3 Croatia
Oh dear. Even though I like both sides (or because of it maybe), this was pretty painful to watch. The game was quite even until Argentina keeper's horrible mistake that led to Croatia's first goal. But Argentina totally fell apart after that, it's like they just gave up. I no longer wonder why they had so much trouble qualifying for the World Cup in the first place. They've truly been awful, and Croatia deserved all three points today without a doubt. Nice goal by Modric.
Thor on 21/6/2018 at 20:14
Oh yes, Modrič's goal was the stuff of stardom. Best captain, best half-defender/midfielder in the world.

This is the 2nd or 3rd damn time you've gone crazy with the n-bombs, Thor. You're not being edgy by using it, no one's impressed by your casual lackadasical attitude towards loaded racial slurs that usually gets whole demographics all up in a tizzy, so quit being a dipshit about it.
Thor on 22/6/2018 at 17:14
There's not much of a demographic variety here (won't go into every other way in which I could pick apart what you said cause it's not that important), and I'm not being a dipshit about anything. Maybe a bit provocative/coarse. Meh. That said, I apologize for my langauge as I knew that it's unofficially illegal here. Thanks for teaching me a new word. That might actually summarize me up quite well.
Maybe I've grown fatigued of the WC, but today's 2 games (Costarico v brasil and N-word vs vikings) were quite boring. Neymar is clearly injured and not in his optimal performance, costa ricans play like animals hunting other animals and vikings got very tired against colorful uniforms. Sigh.
Serbia as a country name is unattractive, but other than this whimsical reason there's no reason not to be reasonably fond of them. Their coach looks pretty boss. And I didn't see the first swiss game, so maybe should tune in.
