South Korea VS Swedonia was riddled with fouls for some reason, not even sure why. But I think Korea only sucked at attacking. They had like no good moments, but they were on a whole other level when it came to defending. They goalkeeper was the MVP in that match for sure.
Interesting also how the new video replay system now definitively decided a win or loss of a match. But it's a good addition, as it should cause less drama and diving. The age of the Holy Diver in decline now. Even football has entered the 21st century now.

Colombia 1-2 Japan
Not a bad game. First red card! And such a stupid red card too, that practically cost Colombia all three points. Colombia played quite well even with 10 men, and I think they would have won without Sanchez's foolishness.
Senegal 2-1 Poland
Another good game! I loved watching Senegal back in 2002, I truly hope that they'll go far again. Poland look surprisingly weak. Senegal got three vital points in a very tough group, yay!
Russia 3-1 Egypt
So we're back to group A and round 2 of games. I missed the first half, apparently it was pretty good despite of no goals. The scoreline flatters Russia a bit (although I still don't know what happened on the first half), they just were very effective (and maybe a bit lucky) for 15 minutes at the start of the second half. Looks like Russia are going to the knockout games and Egypt are going home.

Haha, yeah, Rasha look like the most crazy scorers of the tournament so far. The Will of Putin is stronk in Rasha. They'll take the World Cup.
Senegal's second goal was curious.
Japan deserved the win.
I dislike the belgian team.
England is back.

Portugal 1-0 Morocco
I feel a bit sad for Morocco, they would have deserved at least a point today. Now their tournament is over. Portugal reminded me once again why I don't really like them... or at least Pepe and CRonaldo did, the two rotten apples in the basket. I'm already warming up for the VAR system, but why don't the video people do anything about obvious dives and cheating?

Uruguay 1-0 Saudi Arabia
Poor game. Uruguay didn't impress, Saudis had the better chances but were terrible in front of the goal. Russia and Uruguay are both through to the knockout stage already, so this group ended up being a bit too predictable. Hopefully Iran will surprise the Spaniards in tonight's last match...

Russia hasn't faced a good team yet, but I'm genuinely starting to believe that they could go far. Maybe quarter or even semi-final. I started to dislike Belgium two years ago in the Euros when they were so overhyped, and the players seemed to believe the hype. Luckily their arrogance and the fact that they couldn't play as a team cost them, and they did not go far. :) However, I haven't noticed such signs in this tournament, and I thought that they played some nice football in the first game.
I kinda want them to do well this year, but it all depends on how their fans behave. :D I was talking to some England fans during the Tunisia game, and they were already convinced that there's some sort of a big referee conspiracy against them "again". :p

Iran 0-1 Spain
And so ends the most boring day of the tournament so far. Spain got lucky once but didn't impress otherwise. Even though the game got a bit more entertaining towards the end, the best thing about it was that I had a good opportunity to put together an ikea drawer while watching the game.
Oh, and at least there still has been no goalless matches, so yay for that! And we've got some potentially interesting games coming up tomorrow!

Oh, nice, good on you for putting together a piece of furniture! That's pretty a pretty productive thing to do especially when seeing spain play.
Portugal disappointed me too, I can only think they're saving themselves some energy here. Although CR7 was like the only saving grace there. I didn't really see any dives except for moroccans throwing little hissy fits all the time trying to get a free kick. Morocco's the unluckiest team in this tournament it seems. So many missed opportunities I couldn't even count.
Uruguary VS Arabs - whatever. Arabs played decently well as they don't fear some South America country so much as Putin (on their own lawn as well). Looking forward to how Russia - Uruguay matchup fares. Strangely I'm rooting for the ruskis again :/
Spain v Iran - Fuck. Possibly their most undeserved win since the 2010 WC final (although there are so many that it might simply be in the top 10 or something, lol). Referees videotaping some imaginary foul that isn't even seeable in the recording. Pretty disgusting. Iran didn't deserve to lose to these twits, but I guess Iran's luck against Morocco was even out by their misfortune here. Who will even out Spain's luck now?

Those two matches may well have been rigged. You need to keep the plebs happy while you up the retirement age. And if you spend enough money to get the national team into the final, you can safely cancel pensions altogether!

Also, about Belgium I forgot to note - at least debruyne or whatever it's called doesn't look like a 16 year old sugar boy anymore, so that's nice. Now he's a 19 year old sugary boy.
By the way, my incurable insomnia produced some wonky half-dreams last night, where part of it involved Japan actually being shit and that they were just really lucky, and I guess that South Korea is pretty strong. I don't know why. :rolleyes:
