I'm not asking for physically correct rope physics simulation, agreed that would be too much of complexity for a videogame. At the same time ropes could do that in videogames since 2005, so I think it's possible with some hacks.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I fear the rope will not become any more complex, because it is already a headache to me. The risk that the player glitches out of the world is too high.
