My paragraph structuring sucks this is true, but your still not going to knock the crown of this boy.
Don't you have some cake to eat or something.

Congrats, a long and happy life to you.
A history of diabetes runs in my family, and with my lifestyle I'm driving full-speed ahead toward it. I'd feel really shitty about getting an organ transplant or something because of my poor decision-making though.

lol also you get a nice bit of 224 k bling ..a medic alert necklace.
...do you mean you paid $224,000 for that hardware??? That's pretty expensive!
Congratulations anyway.
Edit- might have come off as a bit abrasive there. Congratulations dude, for real. I was just surprised at how much it cost.

jj: there's hope yet! My late husband was an organ donor and one of the organs the U. of Wisc. wanted was his pancreas. Apparently one of their R&D programs involves taking healthy pancreatic tissue (cells) from a donated pancreas and injecting it into a person with diabetes. A representative told me that it's in the experimental testing stage already and they've had great success so far. He said that someday diabetics won't have to deal with all the needles and machinery, etc. and diabetes will be easier to cure than the common cold.
P.S. My only brother suffers from diabetes and he also has one of those pump-thingies. He's convinced he's slowly being assimilated by the Borg.

Yes! I have heard about pancreatic cell injections and it's like what everyone is relying heavily on for a cure. I didnt realize how far they have come though. This is also why we should be truly grateful for organ donars. A lot of lives can be saved. Thanks Dia for mentioning that.
The pump does make you feel abit cyborged out but its definitely better than five to ten pokes a day for testing. This model im using has been around about three years and was featured in Popular Science as a major breakthrough. I am just pretty excited about it..and hey it comes in like five colours...to me its kind of like finding a cure, almost because it just frees up your life alot
hey but thanks for cheering me on here:thumb:
Lol dinkydogg turns out it might only be gold plated.

Congrats JJ, hope it's working out for you. I became Type-1 diabetic in the recent past too, fortunately it got caught early so I don't need much insulin or diet alterations yet and should be a alright as long as I'm a Good Boy, but the injections are still a pain (especially when you have friends who loudly ask if when you're going to "shoot up" and shake their heads sadly)
Anyway, good luck with it, it's nice to know that there's hope out there for people. :)
