In the latest PCGamer it has a preview of DX:IW. In the preview it says that they are no longer calling calling Invisible War "DX2".
This is because they are deciding to make Deus Ex a series of games!:cheeky:

They're removing the 2 so that people will be inclined to buy the game even if they haven't tried the first title. There are supposed to be so many improvements over the original that this is meant to be "the" Deus Ex.

Or it could mean that they want people to realize that DX:IW works well as a stand-alone title, and is not dependent on the first one. I don't think they mean to write off the original by making Invisible War "the" Deus Ex.
