Beat the game a few hours ago. Excellent. I've added a fair bit to the (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terra_Nova:_Strike_Force_Centauri) article on the game on Wikipedia. Does anyone have any idea what that psuedo-3d effect using collections of sprites to represent PBA suits is called?

No, but coincidentally I was thinking about that just yesterday. Combined with their bipedal motion code (I think that was another of Seamus Blackley's creations which found a use in Trespasser) it made for a pretty unique and flexible form of animation.
I don't know if it has a formal name, though. Some combination of skeletal animation, inverse kinematics, and sprite-based characters.

Thanks. It actually occurred to me when I was trying to get to sleep that it might have something to do with sticking sprites on skeletons.
Edit: I was just watching the cutscenes again with the RAD Smacker player, and in the
scene where you see Mylonas' memory of having her throat torn out, the music you can hear must've been later used in part of SS2. I think it's used on the Med deck. Odd that. I also never noticed that you see Nik's face before the suit helmet is lowered. My monitor musn't be as quick when it comes to switching resolutions as I thought.

I already replied in the other thread, but that's a great catch! I can't believe I never noticed it. You should add that to the Mobygames trivia lists for both titles :)

I've made some more changes to the Wikipedia article, as well as adding screenshots.
