All right, what happens when you try to drop a nav marker?
arpa on 7/11/2008 at 22:24
The white floating prism appears at the point where I drop it. That works fine. Honestly after finishing the game I'm not too concerned about it not working, and I'm just going to install it on my Win XP system and see if it fares any better. I'd also like to transfer my saved games in hope of seeing the cut scenes because the ending without having a the scenes show is really anti-climatic.

hmm.
You're not typing the " " themselves into the console, are you?
arpa on 8/11/2008 at 02:57
No, I am not. I'll install it on my xp system tomorrow and see if it works. If so, it will be a completely moot issue.

The reason I ask about the nav markers is because they are in fact created by using the summon_obj command. Look in user.bnd, and you'll see this line:
bind n "summon_obj nav marker"
So the commands work, thus something is going horribly wrong with you entering them manually.
But as a workaround, you could add the desired summon directly to the keybinds.

The screen also starts to flicker extremely when I pull up the console.
That happens to me also, but the effect is harmless as far as I can tell.

If I type in "summon_obj nav marker" nothing happens though. Does the system give you any response if you type in the wrong command?
Trance on 8/11/2008 at 15:18
No. For example if you attempt to summon an object that doesn't exist in the database, the console closes normally with no effect or error.
maybe ur doin it wrong

The console doesn't close when I hit enter. It remains open and I can continue typing. It's like enter doesn't even work. I've used both the regular enter and the 10-key enter. Could I have inadvertently changed or altered something in the control set-up that could account for it?

I figured it out. "Num lock" needed to be turned off.
