Sorry, but I couldn't find anything it the FAQ regarding this specific problem so I apologize in advance if this is redundant. I am playing SS2 on my laptop (Turion X2, Geforce 7600go w/ 256 mb, 2 gigs memory, Vista H.P.) and am having a problem using the console. I was able to install, patch, and play SS2 with out any problems. The intro and the cut scenes don't run, but I didn't even realize there were any until just recently. Anyway, I'm at a point where I have saved over all my previous restore spots (I was keeping one so that if I needed to backtrack to the VB, I could just reload from there) and am unable to take on the Many's hive mind. Rather than restarting the game, I'd prefer to just use the console to summon some additional ammo and a medpack, but when I pull up the console, the box appears, I can enter text, but once I hit enter, nothing happens. I have to hit escape to get back to the game. None of the commands work. Has anyone heard of this problem or know of a solution that would allow the command console to work?

It is perfectly possible to complete the game without needing any ammunition at all, without having to resort to cheating.
So long as you have three bullets left for the stars, you should be fine, but even if you don't it is still possible.

Granted it is possible, not likely, but possible. As is, I have very little hit points left, very little ammo (3 proximity grenades, about 17 bullets for the rifle which has degraded to poor shape and will lock up upon combat) I'm not in a position to really take on the hive.

The only two commands I have tried using are the Ubermensch code and the summon object code as listed on various websites such as gamefaqs, ect. Neither worked. I did have a save point though where I was able to go back and correct my mistake and approach the final fight with the Many at a much better vantage point, and finished the game late last night.

Can you post the exact summon_obj command that you're trying to use?

I tried "summon_objmed patch" and variations of such where I capitalized the text, placed a space between "obj" and "med patch", no space, capitalizing half, ect. I also tried using "ap clip" and "incend.grenade". These were all found on gamefaqs and chestscodeguide.com.

Try "summon_obj shodan".
See if that does anything.

No luck. When I hit enter for any command typed it doesn't have any effect, it doesn't even say anything like "invalid command" or something to that effect. The screen also starts to flicker extremely when I pull up the console.
