I'd compare it to whatever part of the operating system that is wholly unpleasant, bogs down everything about it, and is something that no one should endure.
So, I guess I'd have to compare it to the user-part of the operating system.

Yes yes, another example of people getting brainwashed into believe that windozes last version is safe and fast, or actually slower and unsecured than some Linux counter parts.
If weren't for program compatibility then.. I wouldn't even use MS OSes at all.

You know what Ubuntu means? Human. As in Humanity. Free thinkers and idealists. Windows is not for humans. It is for sheeple, transparent and simple. Slaves shackled to the tyranny of M$. Why pay money for an OS that will bind you to it's will when you can get the free alternative that wants to, truly, set you free?
Ubuntu. For Humans. For people who desire WHAT THE GODDAMN FUCK DO YOU MEAN I'M NOT ROOT? I JUST WANT TO EDIT A GODDAMN TEXT FILE! YOU'RE TELLING ME I HAVE TO GO IN AND TYPE UP A 120 CHARACTER COMMAND IN THE TERMINAL JUST TO EDIT A TEXT FILE THAT'S TWO CLICKS AWAY? WHY THE FUCK! WHAT THE FUCK! OH SHIT I WANT TO APPLY A PATCH TO A PROGRAM THAT AIN'T WORKING, THANK GOD IT ONLY TAKES ME THREE FUCKING DAYS TO FIGURE OUT SIMPLE SHIT LIKE THAT HUH! WOO COMPILING! OH I WANT TO UNINSTALL EVOLUTION IN SYNAPTIC BECAUSE I NEVER USE IT OH WELL FUCK LOOK AT THAT I JUST BROKE GNOME! LOOKS LIKE I GOT A COUPLE FUN DAYS OF REBUILDING SHIT IN THE TERMINAL!
I TELL YOU WHAT YOU CAN CHOWN! YOU CAN CHOWN MY KNOB, LINUX! CHOWN. MY. KNOB.*
Oh well. At least I have Compiz Fusion. That way I can spend all my time getting my Linux distro to look and behave just like a Mac.
Also, I'm ordering Windows 7 this December. I'm hoping for a holiday discount.
Edit:
Linux in response to chown my knob.
Linux: No
Oh, excuse me.
sudo chown [-f] [-h] [-R] Renzatic my-knob
Linux: HOOOOKAYYY

Speaking of Windows 7, Microsoft has (
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,569268,00.html?test=latestnews) partnered up with Burger King to release the Windows 7 Whopper in Japan. For a limited time only (guess how many days), the Japanese can get a delicious heart attack with their new operating system.
Of course before you can actually
eat the burger, you're required to take it to BK headquarters in person to prove that it's a BK Genuine Advantage greasebomb and not some pirated meat-slab. Alternately, you can call BK's 800 number and read them the information on the packaging, which includes the address of the franchise that you bought it at, the business license number of the meat packing plant that processed the beef, and the name of the cow.
And you're only allowed to eat three of them, ever, unless you petition for an audience with The King himself to request that you be allowed to eat another one.

Of course you probably won't see any other serious OSes competing with windazzled because MS tried too hard to kill other competitors, big time.
Love it, hate it, it would be much better for everyone having some healthy competition that made MS run for their easily earned money, no competitors remember?

The funny thing about this argument (which is a common one) is that when you learn to hack, you learn by hacking test Linux systems... or at least I did when I used to fool around with that stuff. I used to do system security about ten years ago, so I learned to hack to see the other side of the coin.
Windows NT back in the day was horrible b/c there were many ways to get in, but nowadays Windows *is* much safer. Linux and Mac OS's don't get a bad rap b/c they are not that heavily in circulation relatively speaking, but they patch their own fair share of security holes or are at least just as susceptible to users making themselves unsecure.

This is also an outdated argument IMO. Microsoft is not trying to kill other competitors. I personally think the whole anti-trust thing was misplaced... fair competition is what has won out for Apple.
