I'm attempting to turn my taskbar into a minimal "dock" (RocketDock, as detailed on that lifehacker page is just not as practical as the taskbar) .
I've managed to alter the Start button, pin my recycle bin and some folders to my taskbar (using some hacks), and alter the icons for Chrome and Filezilla.
But the other taskbar icons, although appearing to be using my alternate set of icons in the properties, have remained the default, as you can see in this screenshot.
Any ideas why? Any ideas for doing this another way?
Al_B on 4/1/2012 at 13:49 It's probably an icon cache issue. Go to c:\Users\(Username)\AppData\Local and look for the file IconCache.db. Delete or rename it and log off windows (or restart).
SubJeff on 4/1/2012 at 14:13 I've sorted it out.
I had to create a new folder and stick all the old shortcut icons in it. Then I changed the icon links from in there. Definitely a caching issue.
